Since I wasn't familiar with the author, though, and had other books to read, I put it back on the shelf. Now that I've read your review, I know I'll be getting it soon.
For some odd reason, I've always associated "Lady Audley's Secret" with "Lady Chatterley's Lover" - probably only because they both have three words in them, both deal with a Lady So-and-So, and both are nineteenth century. Now I feel foolish. And determined to read LAS!
"The Road" was immensely popular at the library in the last few months (for obvious reasons) and I can never tell if that means I should read a book or not. Sometimes it's a recommendation, sometimes it's just another indicator of our bereft and depraved culture.
As for "A Thousand Splendid Suns," I've been feeling guilty for months over the fact that I hadn't read it yet. It seemed like a Must Read Book for anyone who even pretended to be concerned about the world at large. It was thus interesting to see your comments about it. I should probably give it a go one day but now I'm not feeling as pressured and angsty about it. :-)

Thanks for your lists! I love reading them... even if I'm months late in doing it.TheHeadGirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09132974858624462921noreply@blogger.com
