I think Anne is so loved, not because she's ideal, but because she's bigger than life. Everything about her is exaggerated a little. She lived life to the fullest. (See, even though I know that she's a fictional character, in my mind she's alive.) I think that's why everyone loves her. And maybe we all see something of ourselves somewhere in her?Phyllishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09529794989164847124noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13933987.post-7920336026104022412007-12-24T16:57:00.000+01:002007-12-24T16:57:00.000+01:00Karen,So wonderful to find your blogand to find Er...Karen,

So wonderful to find your blog
and to find Erskine's book online!
What a treasure. I have always
believed in reading and writing as
an ART, so much like what Arthur
Quiller-Couch writes about in his
books The Art of Reading and The Art of Writing.

We love Anne because she is real.
She is not so ideal but lives out
her passions and shows her weaknesses. Truly the Gospel works in her life. That's how Austen's books are too. Anne is not better than we, but she goes through repentance just like me! That's what makes it last through the test of time.

Merry Christmas to you
from the States!
Bonnie Buckingham
CharlotteBonniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03944984613918619990noreply@blogger.com
